Bezirksliga - Saison 2013/2014

For the third game day of the season, TSV Neuhausen-Nymphenburg IV was facing OSC München III and ESV München III on the courts of the latter. Given that a lady was missing in the team of TSV Neuhausen-Nymphenburg IV, going back home with the four points constituted an even greater challenge. Nevertheless, the team worked hard and managed to win both confrontations.

The first team to face TSV Neuhausen-Nymphenburg IV was ESV München III. Since the opponent started with a 2-0 advantage, Neuhausen's team had to win all but one game in order to obtain the two points. The confrontation started on a positive note with two victories in the men's doubles. Stefan Braun and Nicolas Guimond were able to win their match in three sets (22-20, 17-21, 21-16) while Johann Molodet and Lars Peuser won theirs in two sets (21-9, 21-17). From this point, the score was 2-2.

Next came the men's singles. This discipline turned out to be challenging, but Neuhausen was able to win all the three games. Both Lars Peuser (10-21, 21-17, 21-16) and Rene Koburger (21-15, 22-24, 21-16) needed a third set to determine the outcome of their encounter. Nicolas Guimond won his match 21-10 and 21-11. At this point, the overall score was 5-2. The guest team had thus secured the two points of this confrontation. The ensuing mixed double game played by Stefan Braun and Yvette Petras was unfortunately conceded to ESV München with a loss of 13-21 and 21-23.

The second confrontation began with the men's doubles. While Stefan Braun and Nicolas Guimond won their game in two sets (21-15, 21-18), Lars Peuser and Rene Koburger offered a totally different spectacle. Indeed, after losing their first set 19-21, they were able to win the second one 30-29 following a seemingly endless tiebreaker! They were also able to win the third set 21-14 to obtain this crucial point. The men's single then gave TSV-NN IV three points with the victories of Nicolas Guimond (21-7, 21-7), Johann Molodet (21-19, 16-21, 21-12) and Rene Koburger (21-13, 21-19). After this discipline, the score was once again 5-2. Neuhausen's team had once more rose to the challenge of winning the encounter starting with a 2-0 disadvantage. The last mixed double game played by Stefan Braun and Yvette Petras turned in the favor of OSC München III with a loss of 17-21 and 21-19.

With this very productive weekend, TSV Neuhausen-Nymphenburg IV was able to reach the pole position in the ranking of the Oberbayern O19 Bezirksliga Nord. The next confrontation will be held on November 30th against TSV Isen (8th position) and BC Pfaffenhofen (6th position).
